Mission Statement: To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.
In a world where depression is a serious issue, To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) is a unique and compassionate resource. It offers help, inspiration and encouragement to anyone who is struggling with mental health problems, either personally or through a loved one.
The World Health Organization cites depression as one of the leading causes of disability. WHO also estimates that 350 million people around the world suffer from some form of it. The pain of depression often manifests itself in a number of unhealthy habits, such as drug or alcohol dependency, self injury, and attempts at suicide. The TWLOHA Web site has information on the symptoms of depression and features links that offer background and advice.
TWLOHA recognizes the importance of treatment and suggests reputable options for counseling. The non-profit also believes community and connection are equally as important as treatment in any recovery. The organization presents a vision of understanding, comfort and optimism that is sure to connect with anyone touched by the despair of depression.
